Common problems
What goes wrong without a hardware plan
Most device problems come from buying in a hurry.
01
Mismatched devices
Every computer is a different model, which makes support slower and harder.
02
Emergency purchases
A computer dies and someone buys whatever is available that day.
03
Expired warranties
Nobody knows which devices are still covered until one breaks.
04
Old devices left behind
Retired computers sit in a closet with company data still on them.
How it works
How device lifecycle management works
One plan from purchase to retirement.
Plan a Device Refresh
1. Recommend and buy
We recommend business-grade devices that fit each role and order them for you.
2. Set up and deploy
We set up accounts, security software, and apps so devices are ready when they arrive.
3. Track, replace, and retire
We track ages and warranties, plan replacements, and wipe and retire old devices securely.
The lifecycle
Buy and deploy, track and plan, retire securely
Each stage prevents a different problem.
Buy and deploy
Ready to work
Devices matched to each role
Standard models where possible
Security software installed
Accounts and apps set up
Track and plan
No surprises
Inventory of every device
Age and warranty tracking
Replacement plan and budget
Updates and monitoring
Retire securely
Data gone for good
Company data wiped
Accounts and access removed
Device removed from inventory
Old devices retired properly
NIST's SP 800-88 guidelines for media sanitization explain how to remove data from devices before they are reused or retired, and CISA explains why every device should stay updated while it is in use.
Plan ahead
Plan replacements, don't react
Replacing a few computers each year on a plan is calmer and easier to budget than replacing several at once when they fail. A simple inventory with ages and warranties tells you what is coming. If computers are already slowing your team down, read why work computers get slow.

Data recovery
Request a data recovery quote
Need files off a failed or old device before it’s retired? We’ll try what’s safe in-house and, if it needs a clean-room lab, get you a free lab evaluation and quote first. Recovery isn’t guaranteed, but it’s no data, no charge.
Until we talk, stop using the drive and don’t reset or erase it. If it’s encrypted, find the BitLocker or FileVault recovery key. Without it, no one can recover the data.
