Identity and Access Management for Los Angeles Businesses
Identity and access management (IAM) means controlling who can sign in to your business accounts and what they can reach. For Los Angeles businesses with 1 to 100 people, most of that lives in Microsoft 365. SupportMax sets up multi-factor authentication, secures Microsoft 365 account settings, watches for company passwords exposed on the dark web, and reviews who has access, including former employees and outside vendors, as part of a cybersecurity assessment.

Common problems
Common access problems in small businesses
Most happen gradually, not all at once.
01
Passwords alone
Accounts protected only by a password that may have been reused or leaked.
02
Former staff
People who left still have working logins or shared passwords.
03
Too much access
Everyone is an administrator because it was easier at the time.
04
Vendor accounts
Outside vendors have access nobody remembers granting.

CISA calls multi-factor authentication one of the simplest ways to protect accounts. See CISA's More than a Password and Microsoft's multifactor authentication overview.
Often missed
When people leave
The riskiest accounts are often the ones nobody uses anymore: a former employee's mailbox, a shared password everyone knew, or a vendor login from a finished project. A cybersecurity assessment reviews how access is removed when people leave and which outside parties can still sign in, then ranks what to fix first. To control which software can run on your computers, see zero trust application control. To stop sensitive data leaving by email, USB drive, or cloud upload, see data loss prevention.

Questions
Identity and access management services: common questions
Have a question that isn't here? Call 310.331.8119 or schedule a free consultation.
What is identity and access management?
Controlling who can sign in to your systems and what they can reach, and making sure that access is removed when it is no longer needed.
Is MFA really necessary?
Yes. A password alone is easy to steal or guess. MFA adds a second check, so a stolen password on its own is far less useful to an attacker.
Will MFA slow my team down?
Usually only slightly. We help staff get set up so sign-ins stay quick.
What happens when an employee leaves?
Their accounts and access should be removed promptly. A cybersecurity assessment checks whether your offboarding process does that.
Do you work with Microsoft 365?
Yes. Most of our identity and access work is in Microsoft 365, where your email, files, and accounts live.
How is this priced?
It depends on your users and current setup. You get a written scope and quote after a security review.
