The short version: we collect the information you choose to give us and some basic website data, we use it to answer you and to run our business, we do not sell your personal information, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete it at any time by emailing info@supportmax.com.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
SupportMax is a trade name of Support Bay, LLC (“SupportMax,” “we,” “us”). We provide managed IT, cybersecurity and related technology services to businesses in Los Angeles and Southern California.
This policy covers personal information we collect through supportmax.com, our forms, chat, email, phone calls, meetings and marketing, and in the normal course of selling our services. It does not cover the data inside our clients’ systems that we access while providing IT services. That data is handled under our agreements with each client, as explained in section 7.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form, book a meeting, start a chat, call or email us, we collect what you provide. Depending on the form, this can include your name, work email, phone number, company name, job title, office address, the number of employees or computers, details about your current technology or providers, and your message. Some tools ask for more specific details, for example:
- Assessment and checkup tools (such as a security gap check or AI readiness assessment) collect your answers and the result.
- A dark web scan request collects the email domain you ask us to check.
- A phone and internet bill review can include copies of bills you choose to upload. Uploaded files are stored privately in our customer relationship management system.
- A referral form collects your details and the contact details of the person or business you refer. Please share someone’s details only if you believe they would welcome hearing from us.
- Guide and resource downloads collect your name, email and company so we can send the file.
Please do not send passwords, health information, or other sensitive personal information through our website forms or chat.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and the dates and times of visits. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
Information from other sources. We may receive business contact information (such as name, job title, work email and company details) from commercially available business data providers, public business listings and websites, people who refer you to us, and our technology partners.
3. How we use information
- To answer questions, prepare quotes and proposals, schedule consultations and deliver what you request, such as an assessment result, a guide or a bill review.
- To provide, support and bill for our services, and to manage our relationship with clients.
- To send updates, guides and offers related to IT and cybersecurity. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it.
- To keep our website, systems and clients secure, and to prevent fraud and spam.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, and to enforce our agreements.
We use some automated and AI-assisted tools, for example a website chat assistant that answers common questions and tools that help draft business emails. A person at SupportMax reviews our outreach emails before they are sent. We do not use automated tools to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Business outreach
We may contact people at businesses that could benefit from our services, using business contact information from the sources listed in section 2. These messages are about business services only and always include a way to opt out. If you no longer want to hear from us, use the unsubscribe link in any email or tell us at info@supportmax.com, and we will stop.
5. Cookies, analytics and your choices
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies make the site work and remember your cookie choices. With your consent where required, we also use:
- Analytics to measure visits and understand which pages are useful.
- Marketing and customer relationship tools that connect website visits and form submissions to our records so we can follow up on your request.
- Chat and embedded content, such as a website chat window and videos played in privacy-enhanced mode, which may set their own cookies when you use them.
When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the website footer or the button at the top of this page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as expected if you do.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, customer relationship management and email, scheduling and video meetings, website chat, analytics, cookie-consent management, and business data and prospecting tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Technology partners and carriers, at your request. When you ask us to compare or order internet, phone, cloud or other services, we share the details needed (such as your business address and service needs) with the providers involved so they can check availability and quote. SupportMax may receive compensation from a provider you choose.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, where needed.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of SupportMax, our clients or others.
- Business transfers, as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Data we handle for our IT clients
When we provide managed IT and security services, we may access our clients’ computers, accounts, email, files and networks, which can contain personal information about their employees and customers. In that role we act as a service provider to the client: we access and use that data only to provide the services the client has asked for, as set out in our Master Services Agreement and related agreements, and we protect it as those agreements require.
If you are an employee or customer of one of our clients and have a question about that data, please contact the client directly. We will help the client respond.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, such as access controls and limiting access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet. If we learn of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy: for example, while we are discussing or providing services to you, while you remain subscribed to our emails, and for as long as needed to meet legal, tax, accounting and contract obligations or to resolve disputes. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it no longer identify you.
10. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you, including the categories collected, the sources, our purposes and the categories of recipients.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to this right.
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights.
The categories of personal information we have collected in the past 12 months are identifiers and contact details, professional and business information, commercial information (such as services requested), internet activity on our website, and any information you include in messages or uploads. The sources, purposes and recipients are described in sections 2, 3 and 6.

We will confirm receipt and may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on your request. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized. We aim to respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time as the law allows.
11. Your other choices
- Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us. We may still send messages related to services you request or use.
- Cookies: use the Cookie preferences link, as described in section 5.
- Access, correction or deletion: wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct or delete your information and we will do our best to help, subject to legal limits.
12. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Other websites, portals and our cloud store
Our website links to other websites and services, including our client support portal, our online cloud services store and social media pages, which are operated by third parties. Information you submit there, including through a storefront contact form, is handled under those operators’ privacy policies as well as this one. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we do not operate.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
